Home Nursing Group understands that everyone has different needs and goals. Through Allied Health Services, you can access a broad range of specific care to help you get where you want to be.

Allied Health services support you to maintain everyday life activities and is funded under Home Care Packages (HCP) and the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP).

At Home Nursing Group we use a wellness approach, working with you to achieve your goals, regain function, and help you to continue to lead a productive and safe life in your own home.

These specific services play a vital role in improving your general wellbeing and day-to-day quality of life, recovery and reablement, and maintaining your independence.

Fees and charges vary dependant on a range of factors including, your aged care eligibility, the type of service and the government funding available to you. Please call us for detailed information on our pricing.

Allied Health Services can include the following specialed care:

Physiotherapy

  • Provides exercise programs to develop strength and balance, falls prevention, and treatment for back and/or neck pain, arthritis, heart disease, osteoporosis, breathing problems, incontinence and repetitive strain injury (RSI) to name a few.

Podiatry

  • Provides treatment for feet and care of foot wounds, diabetic foot care, assistance with ingrown nails, management of corns and callouses, and regular and ongoing nail care.

Social Work

  • Social Workers can work with you, your family and carers, and other medical professionals including doctors or therapists, in order to promote your optimal physical and mental health. They specialise in case management, educating clients and their loved ones about health issues, counselling and referring clients to community resources.

Speech Pathology

  • Can assist if a person requires assistance with dietary requirements, speech and swallowing, and improving cognitive language ability and more.

Dietetics – Dietitian or Nutritionist

  • An Accredited Practising Dietitian or Nutritionist can help you understand how to meet your changing nutritional needs and find ways to continue to get enjoyment from your diet and maintain healthy eating habits.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker

  • Health Workers play an important role in reducing anxiety and improving the quality of communication for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients through cultural brokerage.

Psychology

  • Trained professional psychologists can objectively assess cognitive and behavioural functions in older people. Psychological services can result in long-term benefits that assist elderly individuals to maintain higher levels of well-being.

Restorative Care Services

  • This focuses on wellbeing, reablement and restorative approaches to help older people improve their function, independence and quality of life.

Diversional Therapy

  • Promotes healthy life style changes and social interaction through a variety of physical, recreational and leisure activities. It focuses on improving the social and emotional wellbeing of participants.

Exercise Physiology

  • Can implement exercise and lifestyle modification programs for older people who may suffer from chronic conditions including exercises for health and well-being, chronic and complex medical conditions, specialists in exercise for rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Hydrotherapy

  • Hydrotherapy is the use of water for therapeutic purposes. It is a form of physical therapy that can be used to treat various diseases, injuries, and disorders.

Occupational Therapy

  • This service works with you to achieve your goals and help you continue to lead a productive and safe life including home safety and modification recommendations, application for special equipment and devices, practical advice and information, falls prevention planning , and educational programs.
